ARCANTUS Musik Production

ARCANTUS

„Diapason d'Or de l'année“, category „symphonic music“: The SACD with orchestral music by Sibelius: From left to right: Martin Nagorni, Producer Tuomas Kinberg, General manager, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Remy Mingeon, viola player, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Robert von Bahr, CEO of BIS records

Arcantus Musikproduktion was founded in 2005 by Martin Nagorni and Fabian Frank and has quickly and successfully established in the market. This was possible because both of them did not only get a diploma as Tonmeister, but they completed their studies of a musical instrument (diploma for orchestra). As musicians, they gained a lot of experience both in symphonic and chamber music repertoire. With this background, be it as producer or as engineer, they focus on what they consider as most important during the recordings: music – a fact often appreciated by the artists they record.

Apart from experience, the choosing of recording venue and equipment are the most important components to achieve an excellent result during the sessions. Regarding the equipment, Arcantus was easily convinced by the quality provided by RME and uses RME-devices from microphone pre-amplifier and audio interfaces to intercom purposes (Micstasy, Digiface, Fireface, ADI-8 DD, ADI-8 DS, miscellaneous HDSPe-cards etc.). Together with optical MADI cabling and the DAW Sequoia (Magix), the equipment is both, very flexible and very reliable. In this setup, the Micstasies are placed close to the sound sources, so analogue cabling is kept very short. Like this, humming and other noises haven't been a problem since. Special thanks to RME for unique product updates and driver support of audio interfaces.
